Anextremely late art trade with my traditional art buddy kuku88 (Kuku you have the right to kill me for the lateness. OTL) For the art trade, we decided to make genderbent versions of Brick and Blossom. She decided to make a GB!Brick and I decided to make GB!Blossom.
I looked through number of names beginning with 'B' and after some thought, I finally decided on the name 'Blerim'. Blerim, originating from Slavic, is a name with the meaning of 'Blossoming' (it can also mean flower/bloom). It is used most widely in Albanian-speaking countries. c:
More about what went behind this drawing.. When I make genderbends, I like to keep to the character as much as possible. That includes things from the length of their hair and their clothing to any iconic accessories they wear. When drawing this, I wanted to stick to Blossom as much as possible, making him recogniseable as a genderbend of Blossy while having differences at the same time so he is his own gender. SO, this is why I decided to draw Blerim with semi-long hair as Blossom would have. In addition, I wanted to keep Blossom's iconic bow so I made him wear it as a neck accessory rather than a head accessory.
See Kuku's part of the trade here ~fav.me/d7pu820
Time taken: Around 5 hours altogether
Tools of the Trade: White Sketchbook paper, Black Berol Fineliner for inking, Faber-Castell Polychromos, minor tweaks with photo editor
Background: Loosely based on this image ~image.freepik.com/free-vector/…
Blossom belongs to CMcC, The creator of The Powerpuff Girls
Blerim and artwork belongs to me, SugarBubbles2000
Only kuku has my permission to use this.
